We had to make an interesting project for ICT this year, somehow using computers to improve it or to be the subject. I ad a Friday night free and decided that I would make a stop-motion animation the likes of which the world has never seen. I didn't quite achieve that, but after four hours and 870 pictures, the animation was complete. You can see it on my Youtube channel, RossdaleGameGuy.

YouTube

My School Presentation will be about YouTube. YouTube is an amazing website/app which has changed the way people think. People upload and watch videos of different topics and lengths and styles for everyone to see, think about and share. A large amount of the population (just over a million people) watch YouTube videos regularly and this community is growing very quickly. This is why I am going to talk about YouTube for my presentation.

Youtube had very small beginnings. It was founded in February 2005 by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim, all working at PayPal, from a garage in North America. They would later sell Youtube for over 1 and a half billion dollars to Google.

Youtube allows anyone with an account to upload videos, and anyone at all to watch them. These videos can be about anything from 'how to eat a biscuit' (trust me, I've searched it) to a music video purely based on the fact that two people don't know the sound a fox makes.
Anyone with a Youtube account can 'subscribe' to another's channel, meaning that the subscriber is able to easily access that channels videos, the videos the channel has commented on and those it has liked. People with many subscribers can earn a lot of money from their channel. A channel can earn money from ads that are shown before their videos. Every time an ad on their channel is clicked on, a small amount of money is sent into their account. For people with tens of millions of subscribers, they can make a lot of money from their YouTube account. In fact, a large and growing number of people are starting to make YouTube their way of making money.

I believe that Youtube is the future of TV, and also the future of socialisation, because there is such a variety of people and interesting things to be found on Youtube that it is almost a representation of the human race (and, of course, some cats that fall over a lot).
Soon going to be back from the Christmas holidays, and, well... I'm not feeling too sad about that, surprisingly. Actually I'm rather looking forward to it. I think the main reason that is, is because I've actually done all the stuff I want to do over the holidays, and now the majority of my days are spent just walking the dog and sitting at home on my iPod. At school, sure you're in a rush all the time but at least you have some free time AND you don't have any time in which to be bored. So Yeah. I'm looking forward to it. And
I've heard that the term is shorter this time so I won't be pulling out my hair by the end of it.

The Oculus Rift, (which I am a proud owner of).
http://www.oculusvr.com/
I have been waiting for ages recently for something called the Oculus Rift. If you haven't heard of it, you should have. Look it up. It's basically these goggles which you put on your head and brings you into any game. It looks like you are there in the game world. And what's more amazing is, if you look left in real life, you look left in the game, and the same goes for all other directions. You have a full panoramic view of your environment. Basically, it's pretty epic.

Anyway, I got mine on Monday and I was so looking forward to it- but the my computer died. My hard drive is dead. I cannot use the computer, and what's more, all of the stuff on the computer has been erased. Pretty annoying, as I had some important stuff on it. I suppose it's Sod's law that when you get something really amazing something has to go wrong. I get the computer back on Friday- all my stuff will be gone though. The thought of playing virtual reality games brings me through, though.

My Bag

I've lost my bag again. Yay. The important thing about said bag is that it basically has everything in the world that I own in it. AND I HAVE LOST IT. This has happened before, but that time I could see a time frame in which it could go missing. Not this time, which is confuzzling to say the least.
I can only hope that it comes back to me as soon as possible.

My odd Google+

Recently, my Google+  has not been working, which has been very frustrating, because I don't just use Google+ for this blog. I use it for almost all the time I spend on the internet. I watch lots of YouTube. I talk with my friends in my circles. I email with Gmail. I'm working on a project on Google Drive. So you can imagine my frustration when my screen freezes every time I visit Google+! For some reason, the issue has miraculously fixed itself. Thank goodness for that. Hope it doesn't return.
